Good read. Thanks. The train is moving fast, and it won’t stop. In education, this isn’t new—calculators, word processors, Google—and now AI. We keep needing to rethink how we teach thinking, judgment, and creativity, but this time the stakes feel higher.

The Ottoman printing press parallel is sharper than most AI comparisons. What gets me though is how the skill half-life collapse changes not just what we teach but when teaching even matters. If domain knowledge becomes instantly accessible and outdatedwithin months, the whole front-loaded education model breaks structurally not just pedagogically. Ran into this tension trying to design curriculum for data roles where the tools students learned sophomore year were literally deprecated by senior year. The shift toward meta-cognition makes sense but I wonder if institutions can move fast enough when their incentive structures still reward credentials over demonstrated capability.
